The power nguồn of kindness is awe-inspiring. It can make someone’s day; it can even save a life. Years from now, people may not remember specifically what you said or did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.
Unfortunately, we have all been in situations where we have been treated unkindly & know the bitter sting it can leave. Unkindness occurs in many environments, including our school district. In fact, time is spent each day working through situations where people have acted unkindly toward others, which takes away from our dedicated learning time.
In an effort lớn counter this trend, the Johnston Community School District led a chiến dịch from March lớn May 2022, urging everyone khổng lồ be kind. For 12 weeks, we talked with people throughout our community on why it’s so important to be kind & how detrimental it can be when we aren’t. Then, we saw the efforts of our students, parents, teachers and others as we work to lớn spread kindness.
As Mayor, it is my đứng đầu priority to lớn govern with fiscal responsibility while ensuring our residents receive high-quality services. Our town will continue to lớn be the leader in economic development and redevelopment throughout Rhode Island. We will accomplish all of these tasks with the utmost professionalism and continue Johnston’s reputation as one of the best communities in the state
to live, work & raise a family.

Homestead exemption was created as a benefit for homeowners who live in the Town of Johnston & make it their permanent and legal residence. If you know of anyone who is claiming homestead exemption on a property that he or she is not permanently residing in, is rented or vacant, we urge you khổng lồ make a report to our office. In the interest of expediency, it is extremely helpful và time saving to lớn an investigation if we speak lớn you personally, but in the end, you may remain anonymous if you prefer.
Please remember that the status of a property on January 1 each year is used o determine the property"s value and exemptions status FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR. That means if a property owner has a Homestead Exemption & sells his/her property, his/her exemption will remain on the property for the entire calendar year, and will be removed as of January 1 of the next year.
